How do I make my MacBook notch useful?
Download Notch for Mac, open it once, and hover or interact with the notch. The panel expands from the top of the screen. On notchless displays, Notch uses a floating pill in the same place.
Is Notch a Dynamic Island app for Mac?

Does Notch work on MacBook Air or displays without a notch?

Does Notch replace the Mac volume and brightness HUD?
Yes. When enabled, volume and brightness feedback can appear in the notch instead of the default system HUD, so controls stay at the top of the screen.
Does Notch show Now Playing in the notch?
Yes. Media playback can surface in the notch so track controls stay within reach without hunting through the menu bar.
What is Agent Progress?
Agent Progress shows Cursor and Codex agent activity in the notch so you can glance at status without leaving your flow.
Does Notch collect any data?

Notch uses system integrations that have remained functional for years. Apple could change or remove APIs without an alternative, so Notch is sold “as is,” with no guarantee that every behavior remains available forever. We adapt when Apple does.
